Introduction from Maire E Morton, President 2010

Preliminary Programme is now available

Plans are now well advanced for the 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting which will be held at the Manchester Central Conference Centre from May 26th to 28th. Once again we are grateful for the continued support of B Braun Aesculap as main event sponsor. It is many years since our conference has been held in Manchester and we are looking forward to a city centre venue. The conference centre has a range of adjacent hotels and is within easy walking distance of the city centre attractions.

The theme of the meeting will be Tomorrow's World. In 2010 we are extending a particular invitation to our oral surgery colleagues acknowledging the important role many play as Speciality Grade doctors within our units. While hoping that many will take part in the whole meeting we are putting on items of particular interest on Friday May 28th for those who would rather just attend for one day.

The Presidents lecture will be given by Dr Eileen Bradbury a consultant psychologist with an interest in traumatic injury, disfigurement and scaring and the psychology of cosmetic surgery.

There will be symposia on Advanced technologies, Changing world of Practice, Cancer and Oral Surgery.

Faculty includes:

Peter Ramsay Baggs, Nick Baker, Peter Day, Phil Earl, Keith Horner, Klaus Merck, Tony Pogrel, Simon Rogers, Rainer Schmelzeisen, Richard Shaw, Nick Slevin, Adrian Sugar, Ritta Suuronen, Gwen Swennen, Nalin Thakker, Wailup Wong, Bob Woodwards,

The morning masterclasses which were a successful innovation in 2009 will be repeated. It is planned to have a total of 6 breakfast masterclasses.

The free paper and posters presentations will as usual be a major feature of the meeting.

Online registration is now open.
